An eco-friendly, reliable and affordable electricity supply for the “Centre Béthel" education centre in Bakara: this important goal was fulfilled some years ago by the missio project in Chad, which is one of the poorest countries in the world. Thanks to the solar system, training courses, retreats and seminars can be held and up to 70 people can be accommodated. The humming diesel generators are only needed as backup and although the location is not connected to the electricity grid, it is possible for the sisters of the Catholic centre to carry out various events. The solar roof plant not only delivers electrical power for the whole facility but also contributes to financial independence. “We are very grateful for the solar system. We benefit a lot, we have fresh water, our freezers and fans work smoothly and our guests can work in peace and quiet.” says Elisabeth Kanyere Mbolu, Superior of the Sisters Orantes de l'Assomption.
Following on from this former project of SolarKapital, the ENcome Management team decided on the occasion of Christmas season 2021 to support this charitable project instead of sending out Christmas cards and gifts. “It was of great joy and an honor for us to make a contribution to this valuable solar project.” reflects Andreas Leimbach.
The aim was to integrate the solar plant of “Centre Béthel" into our monitoring system and thus enable the constant monitoring and fault identification of the PV asset. Due to challenging technical conditions on site, this could not happen from one day to the next. Before solar monitoring could get started, an internet connection had to be established and ENcome coordinated all necessary technical operations on site. Now that the solar plant has been successfully integrated, our Competence Centre Monitoring will be monitoring the performance of the plant continuously, increasing efficiency for the centre and contributing to a stable energy production.
Special thanks for this great cooperation to missio and the sisters of the Catholic education centre in Bakara. Further updates will follow during the year.
